Cookie policy

MIP/6 rev. 2 of 01 November 2018
The "Website" ( uses cookies to make our services simpler and more efficient for users viewing the pages. Users viewing the site will have a small amount of information placed on their computers or mobile devices in the form of small text files known as “cookies”. These are saved in the directories used by the user’s web browser.
There are various types of cookie. Some ensure the site can be used more effectively and others enable certain functionalities. Cookies generally perform the task of streamlining web traffic analysis or indicating visits to a specific site or part of the site. They distinguish between visitors in order to provide customised content. They also help the administrators to improve the site and the browsing experience of users.
In detail, our cookies can be used to:
  1. Store preferences entered;
  2. Avoid the need to re-enter the same information several times during the visit, such as username and password;
  3. Collect aggregate information on the number of users and the way they visit the site in order to improve site usability and performance;

1. Types of cookie

Cookies can be first- or third-party cookies. “First party” means cookies installed directly by the operator of the website you are viewing and “third-party” means cookies from a different site installed through the first party.
Third-party cookies are always installed by an external party, which is always defined as a “third party”, not managed by the website: the third party is obliged to provide a policy and provide instructions for blocking the cookie, if required, while the site owner is obliged to add a link on its own website to the third-party site where this information is available.

2. Technical cookies

This type of cookie allows certain sections of the website to work properly. These cookies are used for authentication, using multimedia content or choosing a browsing language. They fall into two categories:
  1. Persistent: once the browser is closed, they are not destroyed but stay on the computer until a pre-set expiry date;
  2. Session: these are destroyed whenever the browser is closed;
These cookies are required in order to view the website correctly and are based on the technical services offered. This means they will always be used and sent, unless the user changes the settings in their browser (which will affect how the website pages are displayed). They are not used for any other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator.
It is therefore generally not necessary to obtain prior informed consent from the user to use these cookies.

3. Analytics cookies

Cookies in this category are used to collect information about website use and performance. This information may be used for statistical purposes, for example in order to improve usability and count the number of individual visitors to a web page or a particular service. Analysing these cookies generates aggregate statistical data that can also be used to assess possible changes and improvements to the website.

4. Profiling cookies

These cookies are needed to create user profiles so that advertising messages can be tailored to preferences expressed by users browsing the website pages. Because these cookies specifically invade the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation requires users to be appropriately informed when such cookies are used so that they can give their informed consent.
